1. GENERAL INFORMATION
This Cookie Policy (hereinafter: Policy) describes what cookies and similar technologies the Brik website (https://brik.hu) uses, for what purposes, and how the User can manage their settings.

2. WHAT IS A COOKIE?
A cookie is a small data file stored by the browser on the User's device (computer, mobile phone, tablet) when visiting a website. Cookies enable Brik to:
- recognise the User when they return,
- maintain logged-in status,
- remember their settings (e.g. language),
- understand how users use Brik (for statistical purposes),
- display personalised content and advertisements (only with consent).
In addition to cookies, Brik may use similar technologies (e.g. localStorage, pixel tags); this Policy applies to those as well.
3. LEGAL BACKGROUND FOR COOKIES
When handling cookies, Brik complies with the following legislation:
- GDPR: Regulation (EU) 2016/679
- Eht. (Act C of 2003 on electronic communications): particularly Section 155 (4), which provides that the User's prior, explicit consent is required for cookies beyond those strictly necessary
- e-Privacy Directive (ePD): Directive 2002/58/EC
- NAIH (Hungarian Data Protection Authority) and European Data Protection Board (EDPB) guidelines
4. COOKIE CATEGORIES
4.1. Strictly necessary cookies
Consent NOT required – the website would not function without these.

4.2. Functional cookies
Consent required (opt-in)
Cookies that improve the use of Brik but are not strictly necessary (e.g. language settings, dark/light theme selection).
Brik currently does not use such cookies. If we introduce them in the future, we will update this Policy and request consent via the cookie banner.
4.3. Analytics cookies and similar technologies
Consent required (opt-in)
Anonymised, aggregated statistics on how users use Brik (visits, most visited pages, traffic sources).
Brik uses Vercel Web Analytics for traffic measurement:

Vercel counts visitors using an anonymous hash generated from the request; the hash is valid for up to 24 hours, then automatically discarded. Details: https://vercel.com/docs/analytics/privacy-policy

4.4. Marketing / advertising cookies
Consent required (opt-in)
Cookies and pixels that enable us to display relevant advertisements to the User on other websites (remarketing) and measure the effectiveness of our advertising campaigns.
Brik currently does NOT use marketing cookies. Planned introduction:

5. USER RIGHTS AND SETTINGS
5.1. Managing consent
On first visit, Brik requests the User's consent for optional cookies via a cookie banner. The User may choose from the following options:
- "Accept all" – enables all cookies
- "Necessary only" – enables only strictly necessary cookies
- "Settings" – select which cookies to enable by category
5.2. Withdrawing consent
The User may at any time, free of charge modify or withdraw their consent:
- by clicking the "Cookie settings" link at the bottom of the Brik website,
- through their browser's cookie settings.
Withdrawal of consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before withdrawal.
5.3. Deleting cookies in the browser
The User may delete stored cookies in their browser at any time. Guides for the most common browsers:

Note: if strictly necessary cookies are disabled, some Brik features will not work properly (e.g. login will not be possible).
5.4. Disabling advertising cookies via "Do Not Track"
The User may disable advertising-related data processing:

6. THIRD-PARTY COOKIES
The Brik website may use cookies or similar technologies from the third-party providers listed above (Stripe, Supabase, Vercel, and in the future Google, Meta, TikTok). These providers have their own privacy policies:

7. AMENDMENTS TO THIS POLICY
Brik reserves the right to amend this Cookie Policy, particularly when introducing new cookies or tracking technologies. Brik will inform the User of amendments via the website.
When new cookies are introduced – if they require consent – Brik will ask the User again via the cookie banner.
